Eye glass case
I was having a hard time finding the perfect eye glass case for a reasonable price. I finally decided to create my own. First,I looked through my scraps of fabric, felt and lace. Grabbed a few other embellishments, but ended up not using them. I didnt want it to look too busy. Second, took a few measurements. Then, I sewed it all together. I love the way it turned out, and it only cost me under $5.00. I love saving money and having exactly what I want. One other plus, it's washable!
Just a little project

Let them eat cake...
I have finally found a delicious cupcake recipe inspired by the Marie Antoinette movie. Its called the Shirley Temple cupcake, Love them! They not only look pretty, but they taste even better. I made mine Gluten free. I decided that I had to make a batch for my book club, but of course I needed to try one maybe two and make sure they tasted yummy. I think I can say these are my new favorite cupcakes, the hubby agrees. Looks like they will be making onto my Valentines day desserts.

Yo yo flowered lamp shade
As I was looking through The Pottery Barn catalog one day I fell in love with this Rose shade lamp. Of course I could not justify paying the price. I decided I could probably recreate it at a cheaper price.
At my local Thrift shop for a $2.00 I found a cream colored lamp shade and base. I also decided I wanted to make it my own by using different colors and flowers. I made 3 different sized yo yo fabric flowers using a yard of muslin. I hot glued flat back pearls to the center of each flower. Then I painted the lamp base a teal color.
It turned out pretty nice, I have a lot of pink in my craft room the teal makes it all come to together.

I have two more lamps I want to re-do and can not wait to share those with you.
Hope you have a great week. As always thank you for stopping by!
